Top Dawg Entertainment presents ‘242 Caribana Music Festival’ set for this Saturday September 24 (that’s tomorrow) at The Botanical Gardens here in the capital.

242 Caribana is set to be a celebration of culture and heritage showcasing Caribbean music, literature, art, food and social views.

The inaugural event, which is sponsored by BTC, Guardian Radio and Island FM, promises to be the ultimate island party and is being used as a platform to raise awareness about the increasing levels of violence against women.

The music festival will be hosted by Haiti’s former President Michel “Sweet Micky” Martelly and will feature performances by the best in Caribbean entertainment.

Bahamian Rake ‘N’ Scrape Artist D-MAC, Antiguan Soca Artist Ricardo Drue and Jamaican Reggae Artist Demarco. Also on the line up are local bands Fresh Music Revolution and Fresh #1.

Gates to the music festival opens at 12 noon; the party continues through to 2:00 a.m.

Grab your flags, call a few friends and party Caribbean style this weekend at ‘242 Caribana’!
