The Nat Williams Foundation
On October 5th, 2010, a tragic plane crash took the lives of our friends and brothers. One of those brothers was Clarence Nathaniel ‘Nat’ Williams II, an audio/music visionary who went on to his reward before he could achieve all of the ideas and goals that were brewing inside his mind. One of his goals was to give deserving non-traditional Bahamian artists an opportunity to shine on the ‘big stage’. His work with Visage, Fred Ferguson, Shaback, FAM Entertainment and countless other musicians have left an indelible mark on the local industry, which we believe should not be forgotten.
Now, almost ten years later, a group of Nat William’s close friends and business partners are reviving his dream of helping young musicians using the UNPLUGGED CONCERT platform. The team will be doing a series of Unplugged events every year that will feature the nations most talented artist with all proceeds earmarked to establish a scholarship fund in his honour. In addition we have involved the Ministry of Education who has endorsed this initiative along with a committee of industry leaders will work with the MOE to ensure that the most deserving person is awarded this scholarship.
This scholarship will be awarded to one young Bahamian, every year, to study audio or film production.
We have already confirmed 15 of the country’s most prominent recording artists to participate in this showcase, which will be held at the National Beach Soccer Stadium on Friday, October 13th, 2017 and feature the countries brightest and best. Performing LIVE will be D-MAC, DYSON KNIGHT, RIK CAREY, WENDI, MDEEZ, FRED FERGUSON, SAMMI STAR, KEEYA, CHARISA, WILLIS, PATRICE MURRELL, SLEEPY LEXX, JUDAH THA LION, PUZZLE, SKETCH, TWINDEM, SANJARDO B. all backed by a LIVE BAND.
